The Georgia Kayak Fishing Club is having a kayak fishing tourney at Lake Lanier in honor of our good buddy, GOYAK, who passed away last November:

The purpose of the tourney is to establish a trust fund for the education of his two teenage daughters, and I am entered even though I may not get to attend and fish because of my new job....

I met GOYAK (Steve Ganio) several times at outings at Lake Lanier (where BNZ/Bill and I caught our First Lifetime Stripers), a rigging seminar in ATL, their first annual Cape San Blas Campout in last year, and when he and his buddy, "RedDrum" came to JAX and visited the Mayor at Oak Harbor.

His loss has left a void for many of us, and I know that all of the JKF Cape San Blas attendees remember the great Friday night party that GOYAK and RedDrum hosted at that nice yellow/white rented house!!! Hopefully, JR and Jud and Dreads and IS2001 and others who knew him will either fish the Tourney or "pretend" to enter just like I did....

Anyone, members or sponsors, who know of possible prizes that they can raffle off at the Tourney to raise money for his daughters, PLEASE let me know. RedDrum, who was his best friend for 15 years, will be here in JAX just after the Fourth of July, and I already have some prizes for him to take back to ATL, so shipping will NOT be a problem!!
