Had a great day out on the water. The weather was not to cold and not to hot with just a slight breeze. Had three Manatees hanging out with me for a while. Caught 6 Trout, 2 Reds and 3 small Snook. Used one DOA Cal paddle tail all day (Silver Mullet/Black with silver sparkles) to catch all 3 species of fish. The best part of the day was the Big One that got away. Had something hit the Cal full speed and just keep going...the drag was singing, such an awesome sound, the fish hesitated a second so I put the pressure on and quickly the fish made another power run with great speed and I was wondering what it was, thinking to myself was this a Tarpon with no jumping. I finally battled the fish to within about 30 yards of the yak, still not knowing what it was and then the fish made its appearance, jumping completely out of the water with its head shaking and it smiled at me and said goodbye as it shook the DOA Cal into the air. I just sat there in the yak enjoying and reliving the moment. The fished turned out to be a huge Snook...probably 40 inches or more. Hopefully, I'll run into it again, but it definitely made my day.
