Dad and i went out today on what started out as a warm day, and accidently met johnyaksjax at the launch, and ran into chef and mudfish along the way.

We got started right away, again with a double header, there must be something to this father son fishing together thing :dontknow:  , he got a rat red, and i got my personal best, a nice 25" red. I caught it on a blue crab, i had caught a few minutes earlier and quatered up. The rest of the day was slow, i believe john got a rat red, and a trout trolling on his way back in, and chef finished the day with a very nice red as well. The fog rolled in towards the end and it got chilly, i learned a lesson today, always have a jacket with you, even if it looks to be a decent day.

Thanks for starting this thread, Yakah!!

Always nice to see Yakah and Yakah's Dad (Steve) on the water...and Chef/Dan and Mudfish/Jim made it a better day too!!

Those 3 pix really show the course of the day....first was sunny and shirt off, but clouds brewing behind Yakah, second was the fog coming in to cover Steve, and the last was us socked in for the last 2-3 hours...BRRRR!!

Of course, I had PLENTY of waterproof and windproof layers in the car...DUH!!! The last couple of hours were pretty RAW!!

My final tally was a rat red (14-15") fairly early, and a 14.5" trout while trolling back to the launch caught on the Tidal Terror popping cork and a mudminnow.
I think Chef and Mudfish both caught some nice fish, so I hope they post here.....Mudfish got some very nice pix also!!

PS: KayakMike warned everyone YESTERDAY that today's Low Tides would be LOW.....and they really were!! Thx KM!!

Nice report, gents. Congrats on that big ol' red, Yakah! :-B

That fog was something else, wasn't it? I went out this morning to do some stinkpot fishin' in Fernandina with FIL & BIL, and we were in cold, damp soup almost the whole day.

Hey yakah,

Nice Red!

I kept at it a little while after y'all left and managed to get a Slam (2/3 legal). Saw Mountain Dew Man and Harley out there, too. Watched Chef pull in a nice Red. He paddled up, staked out, caught a nice 22" Red, then he left. Just like that

Totals for the day:
Reds: several to 16"
Trout: several to 18.5"
Flounder: one at 13"
Black Drum: several to 12"

today was a good day after a teribble beginning.
got a late start. hit the water and tried to cut down at the entrance to the canoe trail. made it about 400yds down and ran out of water  . turned back and made it to the main channel and started my way down to the next cut but before i could get there some @hole swamped me with his P.O.S.
well now that my ars is completely soaked and the weather is going to hell,, its time to fish. passed a felow yaker with a fine catch of 1 large red and 2 large flounder, he pointed me down the creek were i got the skunk off with 2 rats. then ran into "no show joe"((aka :D jyj)), yakha and dad yakha(that sausage is good stuff). followed them to anouther spot and found mudfish, got down the way from him and out of the wind and within 15to20 min landed a small flounder and then a 22" red....... it was time to take my cold, wet self back to the ramp. but now alot happier  . thanks guys.
yakha. the pic of both of us with the reds did not come out on my camera.
(could have been alittle operator error???)
