With the freezing temps behind us, for a while at least, I pulled on the SealSkinz waterproof socks, procured a couple dozen live shrimp, and hit the creek to see what I could stir up. I took my time getting out and wasn't on the water until around 0945 to catch the last half of the falling tide.
Got the skunk off with a small puppy drum (not picture worthy), followed by a spunky rat red:
After Mr. Red, a 13" flounder came to play:
Followed by a nice keeper size 20" red:
Caught a couple more puppy drum and a couple more reds, like this guy:

Went all over looking for a trout, but couldn't find one.
Not even those pesky underslot trout that seem to be everywhere lately. Then the rain and clouds of gnats moved in while I waited for the incoming tide to arrive. I finally decided to pack it in, as it would be getting dark soon. I made that "last cast" on the way back to the launch, and look what I was rewarded with:
A nice 20" trout to round out the slam. Life is good!
Final tally for the day:
1 flounder to 13"
3 black drum to 16"
4 redfish to 20"
1 trout to 20"
