Kayakfishr, flyfish1, and I headed out to Village Creek yesterday to do a little fishing. The day started off sloooow. I guess the cold snap really put the trout down. Anywho, it took us a while to get the skunk off. We dispersed a bit until jamie called me frantically telling me to high-tail it over cause he found a school of Reds. Steve and I finally find him and see him holding this guy up...

He got another good fish and Steve broke off a good one on the hookset. I got a couple in the 17" range but jamie has the pictures. I had my shot at a 20+" Red but I wasn't paying attention to my fly and got in a wussy hookset before he bee-lined it accross and towards me. I couldn't keep up with him by stripping in the slack (I was fly fishing) and he got off. Steve finally got the skunk off later with this guy:

Steve also lost the fish of the trip. He had it to the boat, a good 30"+ fish, and jaime was trying to help him land it. The fish saw jamie's yak and got his second wind and dove under the kayak. POP! The line goes slack.

Jamie finished the day with a couple more rats and a nice trout. I just kept on scaring the crap out of a bunch of Reds sunning themselves on the flats.

Anywho, it was a great day on the water! I have more pics but photobucket is acting awfully suspicious. I may have to try flickr or something else very soon...

I didn't see Villiage Creek under fishing spots. How do you get there?
