Went out Saturday with beautiful glass conditions and not a cloud in the sky. First few casts, nailed a good red on the Skittewalk but he came unbottoned after a couple good runs. A few casts later and bang, a drag screaming good time. He ended up right around 27". Snapped a couple pics and he was off to grow a little more and go spawn. I had read all the sheephead reports and thought I would give it a try after my morning topwater session. I had bought a cup of fiddlers on the way and tied on a small jighead. I didn't work the docks and bridge pilings that people normally target sheephead, but tried out something different. I had never targeted sheepshead, so I really had no clue what I was doing. I picked a spot that looked Sheepish and it worked out pretty well. I ended up catching 5 sheephead, the largest being 23". Not sure how much it weighed, but it was a BIG boy. Happy with two big fish and plenty of sheephead for the fryer, we headed in. Fish for the day, 2 reds to 27", three small trout, and 5 sheepies. Thanks for reading....photos by Mike (thanks bud).
