Broke my redfish skunk, I haven't been able to land one since the one I caught last summer. (I'm a fishing newb as well as yak newb)

Just a baby, but hey... It's a redfish!

Mud minnow on a Cotee white jig head when the tides switched early this morning... Had another bite on the next cast but I missed it.

I thought I was going to be cool and hold it by the lip while I got out my camera phone.... but this guy has a ton of clamping force with that little mouth!

Nice. I know how it feels to finally get the skunk off. Great Job. Live or artificial?

Hey MarkWRX.....Now that is a great start on your kayak fishing career!!!

Hopefully you put him back to grow up and make babies, and when you catch him next season, he will be a Slot Sized Fish!!!

Good start....Next step for you is a Legal Redfish of 18" or more....Congrats and let us know on your future catches!!

Ohhh yeah, I pay close attention to the rules. I would've put this guy back anyways no matter what the size, wouldn't want to kill some good mojo :D

soup: it was a mud minnow on a jig

Congrats on your First Red! More will follow, the more you fish, the more you will catch, so go ahead and start disregarding other aspects of your life and start fishing more......just kidding... congrats again!

That little fellow will grow into a nice big red someday and put a huge bend in your pole. Thanks for letting him rejoin the herd.

As they say, "You never forget your first". They were referring to fishing right?
Congrats on the red. Keep at Sisters Creek and you should find a few productive spots for reds and trout!
