Rod (Love2Fish) and myself hit the Highbridge area this morning, and we were scraping bottom the whole way to are area even had to get out and drag the yaks accros some oyster bars. We Found plenty of reds and a few were even willing to bite but the majority would not even budge if the lure was inches in front of thier face. This was one time I wished I had live bait. Love2fish hooked up with several but they would come unhooked before making it to the yak for some pics. He was using a blue back MirroDine. I did land two one 29" and 30" one on a dark Doa shrimp
and the other on a white with red head Doa shrimp. We did have are nice quite day interrupted by two people in a jhon boat that were trying to use a trolling motor with the prop half in the water and half out .

Tell Rod "Hello" and Congrats from me since he does not get on here much....I still owe him for putting me onto a spot that held some snook!!

Those two REDS are big old chunks.....congrats again!!

WTG Herby!!! All those fish were running over slot.. I managed to hook up with 4 of them but they did something I never seen.. They only swam about 10 ft away and did a headstand tail in air and some kind of way rubbed my lure out  No running, no darting head in mud, tail in air and me trying to hores in dead weight on 12lb test....Hey John! I'll post next weekend when I land one of those guys...

Hey Rod!!! I have had several LARGE reds "rub me off' against oyster bars and structure!! Dunno where they learn that tactic...at "School" I guess....UGH!!!

I went to heavier leaders to stop those cutoffs and it works pretty well....

Looking forward to gettting back down there and fishing with you.....will let you know!!
THANKS!!!

Clueless as to why I've been Redless the past few time out. Always have caught most on low tide. WTG!

One of these days I need to learn how to fish with a DOA Shrimp. I never have any luck with them. I need to put 4-5 in my pocket and leave everything else at home.

Nice reds! At least it was a johnboat and not a airboat like I had blow by last weekend. You talk about shutting down the fishing.
