Suzanne and I headed down to St Pete and Sarasota to visit family for Christmas and got a free day to paddle on Friday. The weather was perfect though a bit windy. Ft Desoto park is a GREAT place to Kayak Fish. There are many, many private little nooks and mangroves to paddle with great launching areas. The fishing is fantastic though I do not have any snookys to report. I think I had a nice one on on a DOA shrimp but what ever it was snapped me off  If you get a chance to paddle there I highly recommend it.

Tally

20 or so fiesty lady fish
10+ Trout to 15"
4 undersize Flounder
1 bird fish ???

Enjoy the pics. :)

Nice pics and a nice looking area. I believe that's a Sea Robbin. Good guess on the bird fish.

Beautiful looking area and some great pix too!!

Congrats to you and Suzanne for all the catching.....lots of fun I'll bet!!

Sea Robins are pretty cool looking fish...I've caught a couple up here in JAX and for their small size they are pretty scrappy fighters!! Those big "wings" must help??

Thx for the trip report....JohnYaksJax
