Sorry the weekend report is a little late but a work call out Sunday evening and computer issues Monday pushed me back. I hope to add a photo or two to this later for the OH report.

Saturday Evening Guana SML 6:30pm-8:00pm

Got out late after my daughter's birthday party and found the action to be fairly slow. Used nice sized finger mullet given to me by some nice folks at the launch along with guld swimming mullet and some dead shrimp. The water seemed very warm. Finally tally:

1 Trout 15" on gulp swimming mullet
1 Red 15" on dead shrimp on the bottom

Sunday Morning Oak Harbor 7:30am - 10:00am

I finally had one of those days I read you all writing about. I was finally in the right place at the right time with the right bait. Most of the reds were just under slot but were scrappy brawlers and I did catch them up to 22". Although I had mud minnows as well, the fish were loving live and fresh dead shrimp. I was fishing 3 poles and had to cut down to 2 becasue I often had strikes on multiple poles at once. I had my best day in my kayak with the following final tally:

10 Reds up to 22" - most were just under slot scrappy catches
6 Croakers - big and fat up to about 14"
2 Speckled Sea Trout up to 14"
1 Yellow Mouth trout small 10"
1 Black Drum about 15"
1 Mangrove Snapper about 11"

Not bad for about 2.5 hours of fishing time. I must tip my hat as well to the Mayor (JYJ) for showing me around in the past to help me find productive sites in this area. I hope to add a photo or two of the bigger Red this evening if the home computer heals up today.

Thanks Keith. Your old yak is still bringing me good luck. I attached a photo of the 22" Red I pulled in Sunday. It was interesting because he was more of a bronze color than some of the others I caught that day. I have caught multiples before but they seemed to be the same or similar in color. I do not know if this indicates fish mixing from different areas and moving around or not. Good fishing to all!!!!!

Thanks for the encouragement guys. My arms were a little tired but it was well worth it. All fish were successfully revived and released to fight (and hopefully be caught) another day.
