Hey all,
Hope you are all well. Went back to the Parents house yesterday in Daytona and had to hit the Goon this AM for some Therapy :) The weather was Amazing but the water level was Very High ( too high for tailers ) so I had to do some searching for the fish. After some trial and error I decided just to hunt them where the water usually does not reach. I found them in small pockets and channels so I had to do a ton of bushwacking. If it looked like a fish could get in there; thats where I looked. It was tuff to see them though due to the murky water left behind by the storm. It was a Great day to say the least with a few small trout and some nice ladyfish in the morning. One Snook decided to play as well. When the sun rose I could hunt the fish a bit easier and found seven beautiful redfish that wanted to eat. Well take care all and have a great week.

Very cool. The Goon has to be the greatest place in the world. I was down last Sunday and the water was super high. Like you said, first time in years where we saw no tailers. Were you lucky enough to see any schools? We ran into 2 numbering around 100-150 each. But I am jealous, we only saw 1 snookie who made a quick getaway from us. Looked to be around 30" too.

jhmorgan; did not see any schools but i was in the islands for the most of the day and did not get out on the flats where the schools usually roam. there were a few more snook than I am used to seeing due to the high water I guess.

Nice report. I was at the south end of Mosquito Lagoon yesterday. You're right. High water, murky, and very windy. Looks like you did a lot better than me.
