This looks interesting. I'm definitely in the need to get one for the yak.

Let me make sure I understand though, You guys with these coolers are putting your catch in them right? Are you experiencing any punctures do to the fish fins?

I had a soft side cooler once and it got punctured, from that point on it would leak everywhere.

Thanks!

I use the 24 pac which is large enough for your food/drinks and will hold that good size red/trout/flounder you are taking home for dinner. I always put the fish in a plastic bag before putting in cooler. It keeps the fish slim off of your drinks, etc.

Hey Knot@Work and others!!
Like IS2K1 said above, the Polar Bear softsided coolers are SUPER!!!

You do NOT want to use a stringer most places down here!! Why "troll" for sharks and alligators??

There are some safe places, but most just put the fish HEADFIRST into a "Fish Condom" (think a golf umbrella sized plastic bag you get in banks, public buildings or Publix!!)

Squeeze out the air, tie a knot at the end, and bury it under your ice and drinks in the cooler!! The plastic bag keeps the fins flat to the body too!!
Nearly 200 trips on mine and NO LEAKS!!

for the guys that orderd in June did you have to speak to a certain someone about the JKF discount? Needing a good cooler, and probably going to call them tomorrow. How long does it take to arrive once order has been placed?

My 24 pack was $45.00 plus $7.00 shipping and handeling. The best cooler I have ever owned. :)
I put cool paks in my cooler in the morning along with hot drinks and a couple of sandwiches. By lunch everything is cold. I leave it in my car all day locked up and when I unpack it around 6:00PM the cool packs are still frozen. If I leave a can drink in the cooler at night with no cool packs and zip up the cooler, the drink is still cold in the AM.
I am ordering a 12 pack next week for my wife. :D
Makes a great Christmas Gift! :bounce:

Don't forget that at the end of the year they normally have a 2 for 1 sale. Not sure if they will repeat but surely worth the wait.

Just ordered my Polar Bear 24s. They have the 2 for one sale going now. If you do the 2 for 1, you pay retail price and extra for the monogram. Still a great deal.
Thanks for the recommendations. I got the wifey picking up some "fish comdoms" :D
