Re: Roof rack or trailer setup?

Here's an old post about roof rack loading that may help you. Of course the ATAK is a wide boat and may be more difficult to handle.

Re: St. Aug creeks

Jwray is correct - no navigation lights needed, in fact they are discouraged. If you display the typical nav lights, expect anyone who sees them to think you are a vessel, and will behave like one. The important thing is to light your boat to BE SEEN. I put a flashlight inside the hull of my orange ...

Re: Greencove Springs near Govenors creek 07/08/17

That's right - good eating! Fried croaker sandwiches for dinner, and fish and grits for breakfast! I may have to try that side of the river. I am on the Mandarin side, and getting out to the known croaker spots from here gets me a little further out than I like. Plus I don't like anchoring in water ...

Re: Endeavor modification

I've never seen that modification done, but I imagine it could be done. If you're good with a saw, a plastic welder, and have access to some polyethylene sheet you should be good. I had one boat with those footrests, and never again. Too much pain on the outer edge of my foot. Maybe I was using it w...

Re: NEXT HAPPY HOUR MEET & GREET: MON, JUNE 19TH @ DICK'S WI

I'm cleaning out some stuff I'll never use again.........so I'll have these with me. For our friends with powerboats - a West Marine brand 60" Tournament Kingfish bag. Never had a fish in it, but I was ready! $25 And a medium sized jetty anchor - about 24" diameter, with a 4 foot chain. Galvanized, ...

Re: COMPLETE NOOB here, going out for the FIRST TIME Saturda

A lot better than my first trip out! Sounds like fun, and you are probably hooked. Pics have to be pretty small to upload, but I don't remember the max size. I use a Windows Resize function but I don't remember where I got it. It was a free download from somewhere. Depends on what you're using but r...

Re: COMPLETE NOOB here, going out for the FIRST TIME Saturda

A small cooler for some water or sodas, and some snacks. Sunscreen. Bug repellent if the wind dies down, and soap the wash the sunscreen and bug spray off your hands before you handle any lures or bait. And a hand towel. I suggest you do whatever rigging you can with the poles and lures and hooks be...

If I could help you, I would. But anything I might recommend is to be ignored based on my recent results. Good luck to you.

Re: How Many Rods/Reels Do You Take With You?

See JYJ and IP answers ..... mostly bring 4, mostly Shimano, also have 1 or 2 Penn, and 1 Daiwa that I won at the tournament raffle a couple of years ago. All spooled with braid and fluorocarbon leaders, like JYJ, one has float rig, one a jighead for bait on the bottom, or a plastic tail. A third ha...

Re: Kayak Bait Tube: Need Some Feedback

I have a home-made bait tube and I like it much better than a typical Flo-trol bucket. Mine has a funnel as the "nose cone" and I pull it along by that. My funnel and base have some flotation so it floats with the top slightly above the base, with only about an inch out of the water. I see you have ...

Re: Little Talbot Island Camping

Sites 31 thru 39 are the most convenient to the launch. 34-35-36 are all a bit exposed to wind, being nearest the launch. Site 40 is not bad either. But I don't think you will find much available at this late date.......
