Re: Found- rod and reel
There's gotta be a great story around this. Maybe if the original owner doesn't come forward, the Ol' Captain can branch out into short fiction and create some entertainment for us.

Re: Pick up truck set up.,.
I looked into this overhang length issue some years ago, and I couldn't find any number. Just look at logging trucks! The two things I found are 1.) you must have the red flag at the back of the load, and 2.) you are responsible for any damage done by your vehicle or load. I carried a Tarpon 160 on ...

Re: Anyone going to go out and watch the JEA towers inplode?
Sorry for the delayed post..... I was in the same area as Fish Hound, and caught the collapse on video. But the angle was not the best. Unless you knew it, it was hard to tell there were two towers. And they just started falling - if you looked away you might have missed it. I didn't hear the explos...

Re: Pick up truck set up.,.
I don't see anything wrong with what you are suggesting. You should be able to clamp that to a bed extender somehow. I made up a system using uni-strut bars and brackets and a Yakima bar and mount system for my 2015 Toyota Tacoma 4 dr. to carry the kayaks over the cab. Basically a standard roof-top ...

Re: Anyone going to go out and watch the JEA towers inplode?
I plan to launch into Clapboard, paddle west to a good spot for viewing, stake out and fish until 7:55. Then about 8:00:21 I'll start fishing again.

I would not trust that site. It is full of repeated misspellings or improper usage, and I think it offers questionable advice in some of the articles.

Re: Wilderness Tarpon 140
The year is coded in the serial number, but I've forgotten the details. Maybe the last two digits? Someone here will know. What I do know is that you did not buy a flipper. I have a 140 and it is a great hull shape, stable, relatively fast and handles well, too. I use a rudder most of the time just ...

Re: Water Bike Trailer for Bicycle
I think he is looking for a trailer he can tow with his bicycle, to carry a waterbike to the water, so he can pedal his way to and from a water-borne pedaling session.

Re: Things are slow around here.?
Well, if Facebook is the alternative, I'll be sticking around here for a while..... And as for that instant feedback - it's one of the things I avoid by going fishing. I haven't had much to post about lately and keep telling myself that will change soon.

Re: Boat tote question
That's a pretty tall vehicle for hand loading onto a rack system, but you are a pretty tall guy. I use Yakima racks, and I have configured their stuff for several different vehicles. Thule and Yakima compete really hard and both have similar systems and lots of different attachments. Either brand ha...

Re: Help with a kayak cart
I use a cart with the big fat soft wheels, and I love it. But I rarely use it at the launch because I try to unload close to the water. But when that is not possible I put the kayak on the cart close to the stern. I have to lift a heavier weight to walk it to the launch, but once there I drop the bo...

Been a loooong time....
It's been a long time since I had anything to post about, due to a variety of circumstances. But I managed to get out to Oak Harbor today. I fished the last of the falling tide and a bit of the incoming. I managed one fat 18" trout on a shrimp under a float rig, and three reds - none legal - with sh...
