I usually start by throwing a black 1/8th predator jig head and Venice glow SSB and occasionally the molting SSB. I catch 80% of my fish on those two baits.

I know that shrimp/mullet for live bait, but what are some good artis to toss at the snook?

Most of the people that are catching them are snagging them on top water from what I have seen.

I don't know how big they usually get, but this is by far the biggest one I have ever caught and it was last week. Gave off quite the spectacle.

Zip, It was a pleasure meeting you and grabbing my zip board! I am glad I got the warning about the snook wanting to jump off the board and it was right on. Had him strapped and all and he still managed to break out of his restraints and almost to the water but I jumped on him before he made it out!...

I just moved down to Jax about a year ago from Williamsburg and I attended Liberty University in Lynchburg and did a couple float on the upper James and fished out in the Chesapeake Bay a lot. I can't wait to get back and do some fishing! Glad you enjoy the new ride and good luck with rigging!

I have been using the shrimp in gold flake and the new penny and have had some good success with reds. I use then in place of gulp because I can't stand the darn things drying out and making everything they touch smell like…...
