Re: Who wants to go off the beach tomorrow?

I'm pretty good at fiberglass work, I think I can make a replacement hatch and then get one large plastic hatch to fit forward so I can still stow my rods inside the yak.

Re: Who wants to go off the beach tomorrow?

I didn't go today. I couldn't find anyone to go with. I hope to go Sunday at Huguenot. If anyone wants to go let me know & we can meet up early by the Jetty. The mullet have been thick there ~ 8"-12" long. just right for tarpon or Kings. John, I sold my WS Ride 135. I only have the Malibu X Factor n...

A big thanks to JohnYaksJax

I was finally able to get my sister & nephews to BCO to look a a few kayaks. Needless to say when we told him what we were going to do he was so excited he could hardly contain himself. John hooked my 11 Yr old nephew & I up with a test paddle around the lake to see if he would be interested in the ...

Who wants to go off the beach tomorrow?

I want to go off the beach tomorrow and try for kings but I don't want to go by myself for safety reasons. It's supposed to be around 2' inside 20 miles for the better part of the day. I was thinking of putting in at either Jax. Beach near the pier or Huguenot Memorial Park near the jetty. I was pla...

Re: GPS Map Advice

The Blue Chart has the depth readings along with wrecks for inshore & offshore. The one for north Florida is great. Get the Mapsource CD so you can add or edit, wrecks and waypoints from your PC. It's much easier than doing it on the machine itself. I had it on the GPS I just sold. I loved my Garmin...

Re: got my new ride

My first ten items in order of importance to me would be: 1. A comfortable PFD 2. A comfortable seat 3. An anchor trolly on both sides. 4. A 5 lb grapple anchor. 5. A cheap stake out pole about 8' long. 6. A milk crate with 3 PVC rod holders. 7. a good cooler. 8. At least 4 flush mounted rod holders...

Re: KAYAK HOLDER

I got it drilled & painted today.
A friend of mine had some rubber sheeting he let me have to cushion the top of the carrier.
I'm thinking of hanging some tail lights under the bar, but that may be overkill.

Re: Flounder are here!!!

I went to Salt run today and fought the wind. I ended up with 3 flounders a bunch of sail cats, small jacks, & lost a huge trout at the side of the yak. I got cut off several times, I think they may have been blues. My flounders were no where near as large as yours, but they will make some good dinn...

Re: Another Kayak trailer idea

Use the grey electrical conduit. It's UV resistant.
To bend the pipe, take your time with the heat gun and be patient. It will soften in a short while. then you can bend the ends down and clamp it with a pair of spring clamps until it cools.

Re: need input for a childs kayak

Thanks, I don't plan to spend a great deal of money for a kids kayak. He said he wanted to go fishing with me. I'll get him a better kayak later if he really likes it and out grows the one I get him.If I can ever afford to upgrade to a PA I'll give him my X-Factor. He's a light weight kid for now, m...

His father is pretty much out of the picture and his mother don't know much about the outdoor other than hanging out at jenny springs. The Gramps is t...
