Re: Upside down club, again.

Upside down playing in the surf practicing for fishing BTB.
I also found out my PFD was an automatic inflation not a manual as I thought.
$30.00 lesson to re-arm it.
I tell myself it was due to be re-armed anyway in order to lessen the wallet pains.

Re: Best place for 1st timer!

Salt Run in St. Augustine. You can launch at the lighthouse or from the park. I launch at the lighthouse because: 1. I'm cheap. 2. Because the park doesn't open till 8:00 Am. 3. The launch in the park is 200' of mud flat at low tide. 4. Mild current. 5. Shallow for the most part. 6. Bathroom at the ...

Re: 10ft vs 12ft YAK purchase

In a larger kayak you tend to carry more gear.
Some of us look like we are planning to be gone for an extended vacation or homeless on the water.
smaller yaks are better for short trips of a few hours.

Re: Fishing without Kayak

There are loads of places to bank fish.
Almost any bridge on Heckscher Dr. if you fish along the edges of the bank with mud minnows for flounder.
Nassau Sound.

But the sure fire way is to go to fishermans dock buy the fish, go drink some beer at the park, and tell the wife you caught it.

Re: Tarpon Rolling @ St. Augustine Inlet.

if you catch one, beware there are new rules. FWC is coming down hard. The FWC Commission also approved several changes to how tarpon is managed at the June meeting in Lakeland. These changes went into effect Sept. 1, 2013, and include: All harvest of tarpon will be eliminated, with the exception of...

Re: HELP!!!!!! I need to find a battery!

I made a battery box from a waterproof utility box from Academy, it was about $15.00. Two 12 volt game feeder batteries run in parallel from Academy, about $20.00 each. I bought the trickle charger from academy for about $12.00. The shelf is held in place with velcro to prevent abrasion, movement, a...

Re: malibu stelth 9

Thanks.
I have a x factor as well. It is a barge, slow but very dry.
I have a Pelican 116 as well but it is a wet butt ride.
I had a ws ride 135, it was fast but a wet but ride if I did not have the plugs in.
The mini x or the stealth 9 looks like it might be what I need.

Re: malibu stelth 9

I did.
There was not much on the 9. Most of it came up as the 12 & 14.
I am 5' 10" & weigh 230 - 250 depending on the time of year.
I hate a wet butt.
How dry is the 9'?
