Re: new addition to the fleet

I also like that the front hatch is watertight unlike the X factor.
I may just keep it in the back of the truck for a quick trip after work.
When I take the larger yak I look like a homeless person with all of the gear I end up carrying.
This will make me downsize the gear I bring.

Re: new addition to the fleet

It's a lot less than the X factor for sure.
I am a little concerned about the possibility of having a wet butt if it rides too low for me.

new addition to the fleet

Pulled the trigger on a new Malibu Mini X from Strike Zone. Dave and Archie are great folks to work with. They have good prices and that causes me to buy too much every time I go there. I have been wanting to get this yak for a couple of years now for a spare or short trip yak. Now I need to get a s...

I have a 2011 Malibu X factor and I would like to get a raised seat to fit it.
Anyone got a suggestion?

Re: Newbie with a Capacity Question

I bought the Malibu X factor because of the capacity and it was a good deal from Gander Mountain.
It is super stable and a dry ride.
It paddles like a barge but I'm not in a hurry most of the time.

Re: Just bought kayak...now what

If people want to we could get a small flotilla going and have a shore lunch on Goat Island this Sunday.
The weather is supposed to be good for it.

Re: 1st Yak

My ride135 was an early model, probably a 2009.
I'm 5' 10" and 230 now. I was 250 when I got it.
but getting back to the main topic.
Try several yaks before you buy.

Re: 1st Yak

I have a 2011 Malibu X Factor and love it except that it paddles like a jonboat. I no longer have a wet butt like I got from the ws ride 135. They are both stable and I can stand for short periods in both. I am not very graceful so I tend to sit most of the time. The newer X Factors have the raised ...
