Re: finally some keepers!

After fishing all winter with no luck I went out with my wife and finally made out like a bandit. I was Dutton Island Monday, using muds as bait. i bought a dozen and caught six reds plus sun burn and we only kept three. all three were 20in It's a great day when you convince some big reds to tug on...

Re: Kayak newbie

try pumpkin hill minimal boat traffic, nice natural scenery, plenty of fish to catch, and there is a dock and "facilities" (hole in ground) if needed. check tides4fishing.com and look at tiger point. check the tidal coefficient. days with the lowest tidal coefficient are the nicest/calmest/least cur...

Re: Do You Have Kayak Trailer Design Ideas??

I bought a continental JB15 or maybe 17 and then just kinda started building on top of it. The hump on the back portion of the trailer is a vertical access point for a cooler. I have a 100qt cooler that when is full of ice, rations,etc... for a camping trip is too heavy to lug in/out of the trailer ...

Bull Reds - Honeymoon Charter

I get out on the water plenty, but the new bride not so much. Took a charter out of Hilton Head, and caught close to a dozen bulls. Good time, we both enjoyed a day on the water. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-84XnX__3Lz8/VE6UqlwE9rI/AAAAAAAAM5M/LS0XYtHg_1E/s1600/3.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uCdu0UuNQ...

Re: Jacks - St. Johns River/ San Marco 10/17

Just be careful not to get the green algae on you that's in the river right now. It's pretty dang toxic these days. Not sure I'd be eating fish caught in this area either, but maybe that's just me. I'm not drinking the water. I really don't think there is much to worry about the algae. It's a plank...

Re: 10/19/2013 - Guana Lake @ SML

I must have just missed ya'll. I was on the water 7:30a to 9:30. Left at 9:30 because I could tell the wind was going to be persistent all day. You're a champ for staying out till 4.

Usual haul of trout and reds, under slot and in it. This pair of 20" fish made it home.

Jacks - St. Johns River/ San Marco 10/17

Found jacks schooled up around San Marco on Thursday evening. 3-5lb fish, probably some larger. Pound for pound these fish fight hard. They punished my light tackle, I recommend maybe a 4000 series reel if you're targeting these fish. Had some spectacular chases / explosive bites. Just reel reel ree...

Re: Guana SML 10/12

Sounds like a good trip! I wish I could have said the same thing after my brothers last trip, he got skunked and I got a PB, not exactly the guided tour I promised. I was really stoked he got hooked up on a big boy. I was out fishing him 5-1 at least. But hey I've been there too: gotten skunked and...

Guana SML 10/12

Brother was visiting, wanted to get on some fish, so we hit up Guana. Launched from SML, headed south, found the mullet schools just north of the observation tower. A slight wind from the north when we launched at 8 am, and it lulled/died down to end up being a non factor. It was a pretty busy day o...

Re: Travel kayaking

I stayed at 3 places in the keys, stock island/key west, big pine, and tavernier. all were very receptive to safe keeping my boats. pm me if you want the names of the places. the place on stock island had a 24hr security guard and was behind a security gate. and trust me kayaks were the least valuab...

Launched from Lake Marco 2/2 & 1/29

I live in San Marco, so I just wheel the kayak down on my cart, throw it over the sea wall in Lake Marco and head out. Ultimate in convenience leaving from my front door and catching fish. San Marco Fishing.jpg 1/29 - Fished the falling tide at sunset. Caught a nice slot red, 24". Wind was out of th...
