Re: Looking for some LA advice
Hope it's appropriate to post here, looking forward to a fishing trip with my dad in spring and we wanted to try our luck in the bayou. Anyone have some spots to recommend, preferably close to a state park or other place we could camp? Thanks in advance all. Rollin904, Post some specifics here on w...

Re: Looking for some LA advice
I just asked my Louisiana group for input. Fresh and saltwater. Will let you know what I get back. When I went there last for the Boonedoggle, I did not fish where the event was. Drove 1 hr and 45 minutes south to fish the bayous south of New Orleans.

Re: 2017 Schedule of NE FL Kayak Tournaments
Craig, I was at an FCKA potluck at Shell Point a few Saturdays ago. Several folks asked about the Big Bend Classic. It was mentioned that the organizers had not gotten things going and that it was probably not going to happen in 2017. Jeff Suber (who used to run it) was also there and indicated that...

Re: Good Reel for Kayak Fishing
I'll piggyback on Dougy's Sedona comments. Great reel for the price. Weighs under 9 ounces and has 18 pounds of drag. I have 2 of the 3000 series and love them!

Re: Ziptailz Fishing Skirts
How has the color comparison gone? Still need a few more outings to be able to determine which skirt color works the best for where we fish in the Gulf. It could be different in the Jax area. The white and Chartruese colored skirts seem to be working well for my fishing buddy Tim. I have had more l...

Re: Ziptailz Fishing Skirts
Now that Steve let the cat out of the bag.... I did the same experiment years ago in SW FL (Charlotte Harbor), except with a spoon. I came to the same determination - more fish with the tail. I wont throw a spoon without a feather tail now. I appreciate you posting the product Steve, I'm going to c...

Gulf Side Fishing
With the impending cold front and the forecast of 14 mph winds by 11am, we decided to go back to a creek where we knew if the winds did whip up early, we could just stay in the creek. The day started out with no wind and fog. The bite wasn't the best but we managed to catch about 30 fish between the...

Re: High Tide Fishing
A lot of what JYJ applies as to where to fish! :thumbleft: I fish more of the Gulf than the Jax area, but have fished both areas the same way and been successful. I fish 100% artificial and usually fish with three types of presentations. Topwater, twitch/jerk baits and Gulp on a jighead. Lately the ...

Spring Creek - Gulf Side
I know most of the reports here are the Jax area, but I thought I would share today's trip. I met my main fishing buddy Tim, his son Kody and Kody's girlfriend Haley at Rocky's west of Perry at 7:30am. We headed over to Spring Creek. Upon arrival, we could see the creek was really low. We knew we wo...
