Re: New guy here need your help...

A Hobie Compass is $1950 new. A lot cheaper than an Outback or Pro Angler. ;)

Re: Just saying hey

Thanks....and I have looked into SeaDek. I didn't see one for the 18? Is it the same as 17? Plus hard to know what color to go with without seeing it on the dune. I have seen a lot with rulers, want to have that done as well... A SeaDek kit for a 2017 should work for a 2018. Do not believe there we...

Re: Guana Advice

Agree with the Guana Dam as a good launch point. Easy launch for you in a Hobie. Have fished Guana a handful of times in a Pro Angler. The 6 mile launch can get pretty skinny at times. There is a $3 fee to use the dam entrance. There are restrooms on the right before you get to the ramp area. ;) My ...

Re: Snook

We caught 2 snook a few weekends ago in the Fenholloway River near Perry, Florida. They were about 18 inches each. We fished Crystal River the last 4 days of December before the cold snaps hit and probably caught 65-70 snook between 3 of us. We are seeing snook in the Big Bend area of the Gulf now, ...

Re: Hobie Compass rigging series.

Tim, Saw your videos on the Hobie Compass Owners Facebook page. I mounted my 21 inch H-Rails further back to allow for the use of the H-Tracks. Post a rigged picture. Would like to see what it looks like setup for fishing. Loving mine so far. Having a PA14 and a Compass gives a lot of flexibility. ...

I'll piggyback with John regarding BCO. Always a pleasure to deal with. They have everything to outfit your kayak with. :thumbleft:

Nice red Clark! I have seen a few reds that size with multiple spots. Not very often though. ;)

Re: Mixed Bag: Reds, Trout, Black Drum (11/13/17)

Great report! Maybe it's the lighting, but the reds don't look as red as the ones we were catching in the Gulf this past weekend. Yours look more silvery. Just need these cold fronts to bottom out during the week and not the weekend...lol!

Re: “Essential” rigging ?

GPS for sure. I have actually ended up turned around in the far back creeks in new areas and had to use my GPS to figure out where to back track. Agree with you there. Minimum is a basic sonar/gps combo of some type. I fish primarily Gulf inshore and the coastline, creek mouths, etc can all look th...
