Re: Have any of you owned both a pedal driven kayak and ...
Never owned a kayak with a trolling motor. Have fished out of a boat in places where the gas motor wasn't allowed so you had to use the trolling motor. To me the term "kayak" means "human powered". Nothing wrong with wanting to put a trolling motor on a kayak. It just depends on what your individual...

Re: Linda Netti Memorial Kayak Challenge 2018
$10,072 raised. Have fished every one. This was the third event. For a fantastic cause. Worth the drive to Jax to participate in this tournament. Food Friday and Saturday is always fantastic! Will keep making the trips for this one!

Re: NE FL Snook, etc. (08/26/18)
We have been catching snook now almost to the Econfina River in the Gulf. That's west of Perry, Florida. They seem to be migrating northward now on the Gulf side. Pretty sure it's the warmer waters and better oxygenated water versus the red tide waters the folks down south have been dealing with.

Re: Good place to launch
It's good when the salinity of the water is good. Have caught flounder, reds and trout there.Red_drum wrote:How is fishing there BTW? I've never been there, but looking at the map, this place should be full of trouts and reds.SRAces wrote:Dutton Island.

Re: Freshwater Run Off influence in a Tidal Creek
Pirates, The high rain has affected the bite due to salinity levels. While you will see mullet and a lot of bait fish, the reds and trout tend to not feed as much and move to deeper water. We fished the Gulf yesterday and didn't get a single bite in any creek or right at the creek mouths. All of our...

Is there even a JaxKayak Tourney anymore or what? Hard to get too excited and keep coming back, IMO. The Jax Classic is no more. There is an Inshore Xtreme Challange Kayak Charity tournament on the 24th. http://www.inshorextremechallenge.com It's for a great cause. 90 people entered so far. Online ...

Re: May 2018 Alligator point/harbor fishing
Steve, thanks so much for the launch locations! Any advice on lures and colors that will work well in those areas? Any lures work better than others? There's not much salt water here in the middle of the country. We are just trying to insure we can have a better chance at actually catching some fis...

Re: May 2018 Alligator point/harbor fishing
The area off Bald Point can get busy but you do have the one creek just inside the bay not far from the park on the same side. You can launch from Sun N Sand Blvd on Alligator Drive and fish the back of the bay water levels permitting. Leonard's Landing on Hwy 98 right down the road (where Hwy 98 tu...

Re: Things are slow around here.?
Yes, not what it use to be. Our society has changed from a group support to a "Me" society. All the participation in the various group activites has wanned except for a handful of the old timers. Plus, add social media and here we are today........... Agree 100% with what Jerry said. Seems like mor...

A Hobie Compass is $1950 new. A lot cheaper than an Outback or Pro Angler. ;) I have heard there are issues with the seat not staying in place when peddling is this true? The only issue with the seat is operator error when not securing it to the correct connection points. The people that complained...
