Re: Suggested Places to Fish
I am assuming that you mean Launch #1 near Mikes B&T? From the "Fishing Spots" link at Vilano's Launches: There are several launches for kayak fishing. L1 - Mike's Place. This is a small ramp and B&T shop on the east side of the ICW at the end of Euclid Ave. There is ample parking and facilities. Ru...

Suggested Places to Fish
My brother is coming into town from Ohio and wants me to take him fishing. I love this idea but i have only 1 kayak. Is there a good place to fish in the South Jax/North ST Augustine area that rents kayaks for a decent price?
All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Re: Resident vs Non-resident liscenses
My apologies, I must have read that website multiple times and everytime till late this.evening I came up with "only residents can.fish from shore". Tonight, after my wife pointed out that if you have a liscense, you can fish anywhere. I feel foolish.

Re: Resident vs Non-resident liscenses
No problem. I see what you got there. So, i can take 10 yr old to a dock and let her/him fish all day as long as i dont put a line in the water..... Your kids can fish but you cant. Still kind of ridiculous. How is a FWC officer going to determine whether i was fishing or not if i am helping with ho...

Re: Resident vs Non-resident liscenses
I did pay it and have a "non-resident" salty fishing liscense and I can fish from my yak anytime i want.
But according to the FWC, only Residents can fish from the shoreline and therefore i cannot take either of my kids fishing from the shoreline and that is my issue.

Re: winter fishing
If you have to drill a hole in the ice to fish....that's cold.
From what i understand....We can leave the drills at home.

Resident vs Non-resident liscenses
Can someone please explain to me why a 6 month resident requirement is necessary? I moved here for work. I rent a home here in Jacksonville/St Augustine area and have no intention of moving to another state. I had to prove to St John's county school district that I (and my family) are indeed residen...

I'm mostly a catch and release but I will on occasion keep enough to feed my family fresh fish for dinner.
