Re: Polar Bears came in today: Disappointed No More

Re: Hobie Owners Question- Pros vs Cons

The PA is a full-on peddle drive BOAT. Nowhere CLOSE to being a kayak. Forget car/truck topping. Unless you always have help with you, you'll actually need a trailer... Upsides are comfort, storage, and stability. Downside, MASSIVE weight as compared to kayaks. Might as well get a Gheenoe, with a mo...

Re: Surf Fishing Cart info needed

Just go buy that cart and don't look back...You'll LOVE it. ;) It was on the occaision that my SECOND yellow Lowe's garden cart rotted out from under me (wheel broke off on the "T" at JaxBeachPier) that I spent a "$30 off" coupon at Strike Zone, and bought a Reels on Wheels Sr. What was left of the ...

Altamaha Bassin'...8/11

For my first time in about 6-7 years, I took Ronnie to one of my favorite old haunts on the mighty Altamaha. We were targeting Bass, something I also have not done much of in recent years. Well, the Bass are still there, just like they always were. And they are still biting the same old tried and tr...

Twilight Bassin' on the Satilla...8/9

It was a nice afternoon for a spur of the moment trip down to The River behind the house...We launched about 1800, and fished until dark, twitchin' Zoom Trick Worms on light spinning gear. I caught four, and missed a couple. Ronnie, whose casting is improving every trip, stuck it out and caught her ...

Topwater Trout Terror!! 8/3

After sitting in kayaks for better than 20 hours in two nights, and driving 1000 miles round trip for Snooks, Me and Dustan had one more day to fish, but Yakkin' was not on the list. So, we took my Gheenoe over to the coast to see if we could find a few more fish. It did not take long, and we were i...

SSC Report: S. Fla Snookin' w/a Tarpon Kicker!!!

On 7/31, Dustan, Jason, Jamie and Me headed way down South to try out some Snook action. Night time was the right time, and we fished both Saturday and Sunday nights, on the water from dusk till dawn. Here's the view, while heading out for the night's action. http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt172...

Re: Jax Pier Fishing from Kayak ???

Besides being a Yak fisherman, I'm a pier fisherman as well, and I spend a good bit of time on the JBP. Between all the surfers, and the fishermen, the pier is a pretty busy place. If you want to fish the pier, do it FROM the pier, instead of causing more confusion than is already there, by being un...

Re: How do you fish DOA shrimp?

I catch a HELL of a lot of fish with the DOA shrimp by doing NOTHING with it... Just toss it out the back of the yak about 10 yards, set the rod in a holder with a loose drag, and keep fishing. As you fish, stop-and-go casting another lure, the DOA does just what it's supposed to, slowly rising and...
