Re: newbie beach fishing question
I live on the northside towards Cedar Point and frequent Talbot Island for BTB (Hugenout). I use Willy Weather for all fishing weather outlooks.

Re: Recovery Winch for my Jeep
Get one that has the reinforced nylon or whatever material its made from instead of the steel cable. If for any reason the reinforced line snaps it will just snap to the ground instead of whipping back towards the winch. Cousin had this done after a Warn cable snapped when pulling some downed trees ...

Re: Kayak Launches
Cedar Point of Pumpkin Hill have dedicated launch points. Pumpkin Hill does require pulling your kayak to the launch as there are pylons to block vehicle access. Cedar Point has a boat ramp.

Nice catches. Kills me how you guys make reports singing you got to catch 10-20 fish in a session. This NEVER happens in my world.

Re: Not fishing [elk hunt]
Thanks guys. John, originally I was parked about a mile from where he fell, but thanks to four wheel drive and skid plates, I was able to drive to within a few hundred yards of him. Steep terrain and fallen trees made it a tough haul though. Get yourself a skedco and winch with 500 yards of synthet...

Reason #1 why I dont go to Guana or just about any fresh water in Florida. I'm not at the top of the food chain. BTB is different, less sharks per capita.Red_drum wrote:...Sometimes you can meet pretty decent size gators too

Re: The most beautiful place for a kayak fishing in Jax area
Basically anywhere on the north side, access from Hecksher drive will give you dozens of locations to launch from. Huguenot is one of my favorites as the water is fairly clear in the cove and also is beach area to launch BTB from. New Berlin Road also will give you access to Cedar Point, Pumpkin Hil...

Re: Open Water Kayak Fishing
When I decide if I am going fishing, first thing I look athe reports in this order: Swell Wind Tide If those factors are not favorable I fall back to the creeks. If I go out alone I don't really go any further than the bouy near the mouth of the Saint Johns on the north side of the jetties. The fish...

Re: Pick up truck set up.,.
Cool setup but Im curious, how far can you legally have foreign objects outside the boundaries of the vehicle? That looks like a good 4' of kayak and support hanging out the back. Your flags you may have to move as well as they can't block your tail lights from the rear even when at a stop. If they ...
