Re: New mount back from taxidermist
Hey, can't complain about being busy with work (Although I do it all the time). I've been great. Fished a lot this summer, had a great dove shoot up in GA over labor day weekend. I got bit by the bow hunting bug last year, so I'll be saying goodbye to friends, family and the fish starting Saturday a...

Re: New mount back from taxidermist
Beautiful mount! I'm gearing up for the archery opener this Saturday. Also drew a general gun tag for Guana this fall, so I plan to be spending some time in there scouting. Have flirted with the idea of taking a few woodies during the early season, but I'll probably stick to deer hunting. Here's one...

have not fished it but I drove by Six Mile Ramp on Saturday. It looked like a mud pit...not sure if there's enough water to launch there.

Have you taken a trip to Black Creek Outfitters? If not, you should stop by. The staff knows a lot about fishing in yaks, and you can test out the kayaks in a pond behind the store before you buy. I have a Wilderness Systems ride 115 that is very stable, and paddles well too.

It's a great place to fish...sometimes you just get skunked. JMan summed it up pretty well. Give it another shot.

There's some reports posted on Florida Sportsman, but those seem to have dropped in frequency as well.

Re: Never Underestimate the Value of a Flat Tail Worm
nice fish and another great tale. Growing up, my brother and I would visit my grandparents in wisconsin and do a lot of fishing. One of my grandpa's friends had a very novel way of catching night crawlers: he'd hook up some wires to a car battery and run a current into the ground. It may sound like ...

Re: Best launch sites at Beaches
If you caught the tide right, the chicopit side of the little jetties used to be a convenient, albeit muddy, place to launch. Not sure how it is after the work they've done. Dutton, Oak Harbor and Beach Marine are probably the most reliable bets.

Re: Most stable beginner fishing kayak
Check out the Ride 115 by Wilderness Systems. It was my first and only kayak. Very stable craft, but also a decent paddle as well. Not sure how much it weighs but I never had a problem moving it around and loading it in my truck. If you live in FL I'd sell it to you for a price in your range.
