Re: Kayak Fishing Vacation Recommendations
I did the Keys last year.. Big Pine Key has a lot to see in a kayak and plenty of cays if and when there are winds as well, but it's a drive for sure. The Key Dear there are awesome too!

Re: Handheld VHF Radio - Best Option
I have used my Icom approx 100$ for about 5 years now. It's just as good as new, water proof and it floats as well with a lithium battery. It's very similar to the icom m36 on the market now. That charge lasts forever. I am on my 3rd kayak and my 3rd sailboat and this is the best hand held VHF I hav...

Re: Primitive camping
Picnic Island wouldn't be all that bad.. As far as north, you have option in Little Talbot along myrtle creek - not a bad place either to fish. North of Amelia is Cumberland for native camping but it's quite a hike from the rangers station. Cumberland is an awesome national park! So many folks doesn...

Re: Browns creek/Simpson Creek
My friend keeps pulling in flounder all the time each time we go to Simpson Creek. He says he is officially retired from flounder now.. I have caught several reds the last three times I was there in the past two weeks. They are there for sure.. And, so are the sharks too!

Re: Beach king fishing
I have been in the ocean many times with my Kayak and I do tie everything down that cannot fit within the 6' fish box, but I try to only go when the surf is 2' and a very very low west wind for calm glassy water. Once it's east and esp. north everything changes. This weekend appears to be west so fa...

I would like to join in, seeing that I have been on here a few years now and met very little folks, but always like reading and hearing from the folks on here too.

Re: Beach king fishing
I have an ocean going kayak.. I was at the Pier yesterday while my Jeep was in the ER, and I seen 4 35-40LB+ Kings get hauled in during the short hours I was there.. If anyone would like to troll along the ocean let me know - my kayak can handle it, but I never go out without the buddy system. When ...

Hi there.. I don't use a fish finder but I do utilize the depth finder. I will allow the elders on this forum to expand on their knowledge. I know there are many topics on this if you perform a search using those key words.

Re: Tow vehicle issues, any mechanics?
In addition, if you have an EFI then you should consider inspecting the O2Sensor as well. That sensor communicates directly to your EFI. A replacement is affordable on Amazon - anywhere other than a retail store would be beneficial to savings. A bad O2Sensor can can allow your car to not start. It c...

Re: Tow vehicle issues, any mechanics?
I have had many old Jeeps - mostly wagoneers though. I now have an 87 Wrangler - straight six. I am not sure if you have EFI or not. I don't - I have a carb.. If you get spark to the plug from the coil, have someone crank\turn over the engine. While it's cranking see if your spark plug wire arcs to ...

I have been hooking up bonnet head sharks inland, but they are not brown - they fight and run pretty good though
