Re: Redfish have me stumped

I caught two slot reds, two fair trout and a ladyfish before high tide. Then on the falling tide I caught another slot red, a flounder, a catfish, a st...

Honda 2.3 outboards

Does anyone have any experience with these little motors? I'm thinking of buying one and I'm wondering how hard they are to start and how much noise and vibration they make. Any experience or opinions?

Re: New launching spot

Finally some progress! After the rain has hampered us badly for two weeks, we got in with a bunch of volunteers from the aerospace academy and made major progress at the new site today! Eight high schoolers accompanied by 3 adults to operate machinery tore into the area today. There was much swingin...

Re: New launching spot

Thanks for all the tips guys. I had plans to start mowing and bush hogging today and continuing through tomorrow but the tropical storm problem has us on hold until after it has passed. The airport has special procedures for when there is a named storm in the area and they require the use of all the...

Re: New launching spot

Where abouts you thinking of building? North Blvd side or Gun Club side? I think it's a great idea saves me a trip from having to launch a Guana. North Blvd side, we will be sharing the entrance to the new airport multi purpose bldg. and using the same parking lot. It is not currently open (althoug...

Re: New launching spot

Put a sign that states no fishing from kayak launch ramp/dock. Go somewhere else like a pier or something to fish from land. We have a separate fishing dock but it may be a while before it is useable. In answer to other questions, it is planned to be public use and it is not associated with the cit...

Re: New launching spot

One thing I really enjoy is launch areas that are sandy vs muddy. A bit of sand, brought in or naturally occurring, is really nice. A rinse station like they have at some of the bike trails would also be nice. I'll investigate the sand. I currently have a concrete "ramp" poured in hopes of somewhat...

New launching spot

Hi guys, I am not a kayaker but I'm charged with establishing a new parklike area with a kayak/canoe launching spot near the St. Augustine airport. I would love to hear from anyone with experience that might be able to offer advice and/or evaluation of my current plans. My intent is to not allow any...
