Re: New guy here need your help...

I sure this topic has been beat to death but I could really use some advice..I am wanting to get a fishing kayak again. I had a 2014 perception Pescador 12 that I fell out of twice (once in 40 degrees water temp)and it kinda turned me off of kayaking. I really want to give it another shot. I’m 6’2 ...

Re: Kayak Seats and Life Jackets

I use a self inflating life jacket.
It doesn't have padding in the back and gives me more mobility than a regular jacket.

Shands pier 7/23/16

I decided to go to the pier and see what was going on with the shrimp and do a little fishing. On the plus side the pier wasn't packed. On the minus side the shrimp weren't there and the fishing was poor. The shrimp were small and people were only getting 5 or 6 in a cast. Did see two FWC officers c...

Re: Lightweight fishing kayak

Mini x is sweet.
I have one I got at Strike Zone last year.
Much easier to carry than the X Factor I have.

Re: calm water advise needed

For your first time launch during low tide so you can see where the oyster bars are at. Paddle around to the south end and wait for the tide to come in. I would castnet some finger mullet on the sand bars in the middle of the lagoon area. Once the tide is all the way in fish the creek mouth and oyst...

Re: Salt Run 10/23/15

Went back today.
Caught 1 keeper red and 1 keeper flounder.
Lost 2 flounder at the kayak and missed 2 big fish, bad hookset.

Salt Run 10/23/15

I bought a new Malibu Mini X from Strike Zone last month and today was the first time I got to take it out. It felt a little tippy at first. You get used to a large kayak and a smaller one takes some getting used to. I got 2 dozen mud minnows from avid angler it St. Augustine and hit the water aroun...

Re: Upgrading kayak

Malibu stealth 12 or 14.
I have the X factor and I love it. I wish I had bought the stealth because of the livewell.

Re: new addition to the fleet

I need a new seat.
The one for my x factor is too long.
It covers the hatch by about 3".
Anyone know of a seat that will fit?
