Re: Nassau sound flounder, with video!

The Polar Bear coolers are super nice, I got the back pack one for Christmas. I have yet to put any fish in it because its so nice but its awesome for beach cruising! Fourth of July I had that joker loaded down!

Re: Potential Johnston Island Park and Ramp in Atlantic Beac

No point in putting in 4 ramps if there is no where to park trailers. That is the issue at all the ramps around Jax. I think they need to open a big ramp in that area to take pressure off of Mayport and the Beach Blvd ramp. Also, restaurants and boat ramps are not a good mix, all it does is cause an...

Re: Slightly Offshore kayaking possibilities

I know the reef system in Jupiter starts about 3-5 miles offshore. That's still a helk of a long paddle. I want to learn more about the reef off the St Augustine pier, did anyone ever post numbers for that. Heard it was loaded with slot reds recently. I imagine its more like the equivalent of fishin...

Re: SLAM Dink + Flounder Sounder

The flounder fishing has been outstanding, I got 6 on Saturday. If your launching at low tide you should be able to load up on muds for the day in one throw of the cast net. I went out of beach blvd and had about 50 muds in one throw with the 7 footer. I threw again deeper and loaded up on small mul...

Re: 6/14 Goodbys

A guy I work with said he tore up overslot reds on top waters at the mouth of Goodbys this past weekend. Seems to be a popular place to be right now. Catch them up.

After Work BTB

With all the talk about guys going BTB lately its got me thinking about planning an after work session. The surf report is showing flat from now till Friday. Is anyone else interested in getting together around 5-5:30pm and do a surf launch? I have heard good reports of kings north of Vilano inlet a...

Re: Strike zone tent sale.

The lure selection was OK.. most of the soft plastics were off brand, some less desirable Gulp, and the hard baits were mostly freshwater(ish) baits. They did have a ton of skitterwalks but only in one color. Tons of Sebile lures, which I picked one up to try. More Yozuri minnows than you would know...

Re: New Classic catagory?

I don't think you change a dang thing. You can start being a guide if you think it gives you an unfair advantage. If you choose to sit in an office building all day, that is your personal choice. If you don't want to sack up and fish the river for a big red than that is your choice too. If you think...

Re: Nearshore reefs

I would find a buddy with a boat to feel things out. Not really worth the effort (and risk) to get out there if that thing is dead. You will also be able to get a much better feel of coordinates and positioning on a boat with a GPS than in your kayak. If you find it is loaded with pomps let us all k...

Re: Old fiberglass canoe repairs

West Marine sells their epoxy resin is pre-portioned packets with an appropriate amount of resin to hardener. It's perfect for small jobs and a first shot at fiber glass repair. Use the chart as the ratio should vary due to temperature. Get yourself a few square feet of chop matting and cloth, West ...

Fenwick Rods

Was browsing in Strike Zone the other day while a buddy of mine was picking up some new gear. At the time I wasnt really in the market for a new rod but the other day the second guide on one of my old rods popped out, I had just repaired the darn tip guide on the thing. I was only using that rod bec...

Re: Jacksonville Beach BTB 3-26-16

Nice report, its a little early in the year (for me) to be going BTB. Once the pogie pods move in there will be endless predators roaming the beaches for an easy meal. Still after my first silver king from the yak, feel free to give me a shout if you need a second person.
