I used a wide spoon heated with a torch to smooth in sections of HDPE. Cleaned the area first and roughed it with coarse sand paper. A final sanding with fine grit smoothed the area like new.
As with so any others I use a canoeman's loop. My largest ever landed fish on that knot has been a 52lb musky a Lake of the Woods in Canada 6 summers ago ( yes on an Emmrod ). I use this connection on 20lb fluorocarbon up north and here at home in Florida. Thus far it's never failed me.
What is the best roof top kayak carrier for a Ford Transit Connect Wagon? Still have the pickup but the Transit is much more secure for the gear. I do have the Ford roof rack and cross bars already but would love something that would boost the boat up.

I shouldn't be suggesting this but I can't help it. I never hurts to consider an Emmrod, yes I do work with them. But for super durability and frankly loads of fun the are hard to beat. Right now for a spin setup and big fish I'd use an eight coil Packrod spin or Kayak King with the .50 tip guide. F...
