Re: Oyster Rash with tiny leak in kayak. How to repair?

I used a wide spoon heated with a torch to smooth in sections of HDPE. Cleaned the area first and roughed it with coarse sand paper. A final sanding with fine grit smoothed the area like new.

Re: Best Florocarbon Knot?

As with so any others I use a canoeman's loop. My largest ever landed fish on that knot has been a 52lb musky a Lake of the Woods in Canada 6 summers ago ( yes on an Emmrod ). I use this connection on 20lb fluorocarbon up north and here at home in Florida. Thus far it's never failed me.

Carry

What is the best roof top kayak carrier for a Ford Transit Connect Wagon? Still have the pickup but the Transit is much more secure for the gear. I do have the Ford roof rack and cross bars already but would love something that would boost the boat up.

Re: Things are slow around here.?

It's the increase pages on Facebook and instant communication via the social media options. Heck with some of the Facebook sites and new tech you can stream live while you fish or want instant feedback. I've also noticed as we have aged use of motors has increased. It started with peddle power then ...

Boat tote question

Just got a new to me Ford Transit Connect wagon as my regular driver. So the days of tossing the boat in the pickup are done for now on longer trips. I needed the covered carry space for our business. What is the best topper to carry a kayak or canoe? I've been told about a Thule Hullivator I think ...

 It's a great shop and sure wish it was closer to home. The times I stopped over it was an example of great service and attention paid to the customer. I love seeing folks happy with a business they choose to buy from.

Re: What's Best 4 Piece Travel Spin Rod?? (for carry on)

I shouldn't be suggesting this but I can't help it. I never hurts to consider an Emmrod, yes I do work with them. But for super durability and frankly loads of fun the are hard to beat. Right now for a spin setup and big fish I'd use an eight coil Packrod spin or Kayak King with the .50 tip guide. F...
