Bet all his redfish buddies were giving him smack about that line hanging out of his mouth. ....kind of like one of us humans coming out of the bathroom with toilet paper sick to our shoes!

Clapboard Creek, non-kayak
Fished Sunday without too much success. But one bright spot was a 26.5 inch red caught on a white slayer jig with a white gulp shrimp. What made it neat was that as I was trolling up to this spot, I saw the red and he got spooked off this point that is near a deep "trough". I went into the funnel ar...

Re: Borrow/Rent a Kayak Sunday June 1st
YaknGator18, I did the same thing you are doing a couple of years ago and a fellow kayaker let me borrow his nucanoe I think it was, for me and my wife since we had friends over. Guess it is time for me to pay it forward. I will be fishing the classic but other than that I usually fish out of my ske...

Re: Oak Harbor
I have both a kayak and a boat. I have not tried it since they re-opened but before I couldn't get my boat out of Oak Harbor if it was anywhere close to the half-way point to low tide. My boat will not move with the winch strap, has to be driven up even though it is a relatively light boat (somethin...

Re: Shallow water reds
1/8 oz or lighter jig head, gulp shrimp (regular or mantis) or gulp swimming mullet, throw it up on the mud, slowly pull it down in the water. Leave it there a few seconds, they will usually smell it and pick it up....if not, slow twitches until they can feel it. Throwing it up to the mud avoids a b...

Oak Harbor
Did I hear rumors of Oak Harbor repairs again??? How much will they spend this time and how long will they close it? Seems like they could at least this time build a simple alternate launch just for kayakers and canoers, away from the construction. Just lay down some sand or mulch or a temporary flo...

Better tell him that a 27 inch plus red will bust that rod based on where he is holding it in the first couple of pictures. It will all come with a few more fish under his belt.....he just needs to get used to holding on to the butt of the rod and stopping when he can get a hand or the net on the fi...

Re: Heaven sent kayakers late at night!
Speaking of catfish, a friend of mine caught a good size trout, about 23 inches (in the water, in the mouth in case you were wondering, just because it's his "secret" spot) and the thing spit up a little catfish, about 4 inches long, about half way decomposed. Now that's a mean trout. Makes you wond...

Heaven sent kayakers late at night!
Not sure if they post or look at posts on JaxKayakfishing but if they do, huge thanks to the kayakers that helped me out in Oak Harbor last night. Decided to try some night time fishing in my boat last night and some crabber guy decided he likes the same spot I like as he put a crab trap with about ...

Mind control steering will be next. If you make it big with that, please send royalties! Thanks.
Camelback water packs was my idea on a long hot run in Tennessee years ago....they have yet to send me any royalties!
