Re: common courtesy in the flooded grass

Stay the hell away from a flat that is already occupied. There is a very well known local guide, used to run a red hewes redfisher who acted like just cos he had paying clients he could barge in whenever he felt like it. After the second experience with him, anytime he encroached on me, I'd just pa...

Re: I need some feedback on a product please

Yeah, definitely not a big fan of those buckles. I'm pretty sure I've seen just the pads at quite a few of the sporting goods stores around town at some point over the past few years. One thing you might need to consider is the bottom of your boat. It's not a flush round bottom, but more of a pontoo...

Re: I need some feedback on a product please

Looks like you are referring to this or something similar? http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/attwood-car-top-universal-kayak-carrier-kit/pid-168335?N=806023253&Ntt=car+top+carrier&Ntk=All# I wouldn't trust those buckles with a surfboard, let alone a kayak! Find a decent set of pads (not maxi ...

Re: Fly Tying Board

No doubt those last two will work...and they're easy to tie! I have been tying a fly similar to that for the past few years and they work in the grass, in the creeks and even down in the clear water of Mosquito Lagoon. I have so much confidence in those flies, that's pretty much the only thing I thr...

Looks fishy, but you will need way more than a 4.9 for it work...if it will work. You going down Gun Club Rd. or Island Landing Dr.?

Re: Sunday Evening

Fished the St. Auggie area as well last night. Saw a few sheepies and only one red. Managed to get one of the sheepeis to eat, but couldn't come tight. As for the red, I casted at him for what seemed like an eternity. If he was heading left, he would turn right just before my fly landed. If I zigged...

Good haul! I'm sure the man knows his regulations and a quick internet search shows he and his friend were within the laws...of Georgia. He never said he was fishing in FL!!

Re: Mayport tides

Thanks Island. I'm aware of how to change the locations, but each one has three different tide heights. I'm trying to figure why they vary and which one most people use in determining the tide height.

Re: Rod Slayer

I've read many forums and the BVK has a reputation for breaking. I own a 7 weight and have put it to the test on a few larger fish and haven't had any issues yet...and hopefully never will! Everything I hear about TFO customer service is top notch so that is definitely a plus. Keep us posted on how ...

Mayport tides

There are three tide locations for Mayport. This site defaults to the "Degausing Structure", while other sites seem to default to the "Bar Pilot Dock". Anybody know which is the most accurate...especially when it comes to tide height?

SFL,

I have an old Surf to Summit seat. Not sure what model it is. It's not the higher end GTS seats, but not complete garbage either.

Re: Best Kayak for Fly Fishing

I have a Stealth 12 and use a large beach towel to cover the deck. I have also had decent luck while poling backwards and using a 5 gallon bucket as a stripping basket. I put it in the seat or on the rear deck. http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag33/chadderly77/fishing/red_zps5d1fefeb.jpg?t=137513...
