Re: Boat tote question

I've started pulling my boat or my kayaks with my Class B RV. Trying to get a kayak on top of a tall vehicle is a lot of trouble and a sure way to hurt your back. If you find a trailer with a collapsible or folding tongue it makes storage a lot easier. By the time you add up the cost of a roof syste...

Re: New guy here need your help...

I have one of these along with a Wilderness Tarpon. They come in a variety of colors and are in the price range that you asked for. You can wait and while and find a good used one like I did. The tunnel/cat hull design of the Native is very stable but not as fast as the Tarpon, however the 12' only ...

Re: Skiff vs. kayak?

You already own a 16' boat (I assume it's a fishing boat). I'd use it in this new area until you decide that you need something different.

Re: Crowder Rods...opinions anyone?

I would recommend that you buy the rod that suits the type of fishing that you will do most of the time. You'll have a rod that works for most of your fishing, rather than a compromise every time you go fishing. Better to be happy some of the time than dissatisfied all of the time :-)

I would say that the further you move away from Atlanta, the better your life will be. Especially where a daughter is involved. Congrats.

Re: Fly Fishing Rookie

It's one of those things that is not intuitive even though you think it would be. Take a lesson. It will save you hours of frustration and the subsequent loss of dollars after you list your "hardly ever used" fly outfit on Craigslist :)

Re: Moving to area

In my work I am at many of the local schools on a weekly basis. If I still had school aged children, I would not send them to a Duval public school aside from Stanton College Prep or Possibly Paxon. These schools are very competitive. The rest are average or below average at best. http://www.usnews....

Re: knew it was coming

I have less money invested in my 25 mph Custom Gheenoe NMZ with a 15hp plus my WS Tarpon 12 than some of these new boats cost. Makes me feel like an old, too lazy to paddle far, astute investor, fisherman ;)

Re: Wet rods (Clean post I promise)

My solution was fly fishing...no gears, no worries. If you dunk 'em then just rinse them off when you get home. Plus, they make a 3 pound fish feel like a 10 pounder :-)

Good fishing up there. The world's record redfish was caught in NC.
